Boston City Councilor Brian J. Honan Park

On Saturday, June 4, 2005, the park located on 300 Allston Street next to the Monarch Condominiums was dedicated to Brian Honan in recognition of his devotion to and love for the parks in Allston-Brighton. One of Brian’s first jobs was working for the Allston-Brighton Community Development Corporation where he led a group of summer youth workers in creating and maintaining playgrounds in the community.

Brian was a forceful advocate in ensuring that open spaces were maintained in the community. Ed Fish, President of EA Fish Associates and Vincent Norton, Senior Project Director, along with Mayor Thomas Menino and the Boston City Council, have named this urban open space the Boston City Councilor Brian J. Honan Park in memory of Brian’s extraordinary efforts on behalf of the community.
